Just Be: Mindfulness for the Queer Community offers a unique opportunity to explore mindfulness, guided relaxation (nidra), and gentle movement practices in like-minded community. This FREE community event is open to all who desire to experience the potentially powerful benefits of these relaxation techniques; however our focus will be on offering supportive methods for navigating the specific stressors relevant to those identifying as part of the Queer Community (LGBTQ+), their loved ones, and allies.
Our practice includes gentle, floor-based movement, guided meditation (nidra), mindfulness, breathing practices, and vocal toning (mantra). Dress comfortably. We will be seated and/or lying on the floor throughout the event. PLYW has yoga mats, blankets, bolsters, and eye pillows however you are welcome to bring your own mat or props and pillows to pad your nest and create the most comfortable experience possible.
